ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I’m a big fan of comic books, especially the exaggerated poses, bold lines, and striking colors of superhero comics. At the same time, I am fascinated with abstract paintings that feature heavy use of texture and color. A painting is more interesting to me if I can see every brushstroke and drop of color put into it.

It is my appreciation for these two styles of art that drives me to create my own work. I bring elements of both illustrative and abstract artwork into my paintings. I capture emotion and energy in the subject of the work through color and texture. This style allows for constant experimentation, making every painting new and exciting.
